Would you like to become part of a team of MITES, E2@MIT, MOSTEC, SEED Academy, and STEM Program alumni who are helping support the efforts of the OEOP? Consider one or more of our volunteer leadership opportunities:
Recruit prospective students
Expand the reach of our recruitment efforts. As an alumni recruiter, you will help spread the word about our programs by visiting schools and community-based organizations in your community, attending college opportunity fairs, and sharing via email and social media. To learn more about recruiting as an alumni, please join the 'Alumni Ambassadors' Group on OEOP Connect, OEOP's online, alumni network.
Host a webinar
Throughout the year, there are various opportunities to participate in webinars with current students, alumni, and parents. These webinars include both opportunities to answer questions and share advice as part of a panel of alumni/staff and opportunities to lead a MOSTEC webinar in which you share about your story and path in STEM. If you are interested in leading a webinar with MOSTEC, please email: mostec@mit.edu. For interest in opportunities to participate in other webinars, please join the 'Alumni Ambassadors' Group on OEOP Connect, OEOP's online, alumni network. This will allow you to receive notifications about upcoming webinar opportunities.
Serve on a selection committee
Help us shape the student body for the OEOP programs through participation in an OEOP selection committee. As a selection committee member, you will review and provide feedback on applications and take part in a selection committee meeting in order to discuss. During the meeting, you work with a team to provide feedback on students' fit for the programs. For interest in participating in the selection committee for our local program, SEED, please email: seed@mit.edu. For interest in participating in the selection committee for our national programs, MITES/MOSTEC, please email: summerapp@mit.edu.
